Natalie Dormer is on everyone’s must-watch list, and it’s all for good reason. Not only is she starring in one of the most popular shows on television (“Game of Thrones,” anyone?), but she’s also appearing alongside Jennifer Lawrence in the number-one movie in the world. And according to a recent Nylon interview, Dormer learned some life lessons from her “Mockingjay: Part 1” costar.
Although she says she has “no judgment of other actors,” she tries to keep her “private life private.” In the December/January issue of the magazine, Dormer reveals why she’s so committed to keeping her private life out of the public eye. It seems the photo hacking incident, which Lawrence calls a sex crime, impacted Dormer’s views.
She says what Lawrence went through with her photo hacking was “horrific.” Even though Lawrence is at the height of her fame, Dormer said she doesn’t “think there’s any level of fame that can justify that kind of invasion into privacy, not to mention laws being broken.” She believes people “just need to get a grip if they think that’s even halfway acceptable.”
In her “Vanity Fair” interview, Lawrence made a similar claim, saying that her public persona doesn’t give people a right to invade her privacy:
“Just because I’m a public figure, just because I’m an actress, does not mean that I asked for this…It does not mean that it comes with the territory. It’s my body, and it should be my choice, and the fact that it is not my choice is absolutely disgusting. I can’t believe that we even live in that kind of world.”
Given that Lawrence also shied away from social media and was still targeted, it makes sense that Dormer would be extra-cautious about what she relays to the public and her fans.
